Memorial Biography

ARNOLD CHRISTIAN JORGENSEN  JR. - 82

Arnold Christian Jorgensen of Hawthorne, New York passed away Saturday, January 18th 2014.

Services will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday January 25th 2014 at Hawthorne Reformed Church, 65 Broadway, Hawthorne New York 10532.  Reverend George B. Higgins will be officiating. Burial will follow at Hawthorne Cemetery.

Arnold was born July 20th, 1931 in White Plains, New York to Arnold C. Jorgensen Sr. and Johanna (Grosse) Jorgensen.

He graduated from White Plains High School in 1949 and served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955.

Arnold was the Comptroller at St. Vincent's Hospital Westchester Branch for 17 years and then finished his career as Chief Analyst at the Archdiocese of New York, retiring in 2003.

Arnold was President of the Hospital Financial Management Association (HFMA) from 1979-1980  and in 1987 received their highest honor the HFMA Founders Award.

Arnold also served as the Financial Secretary of the Hawthorne Reformed Church  for 44 years and was an Elder in the church. In his spare time he enjoyed skiing, golf, and bowling.

Arnold is survived by his life partner, Maryanne McMullen of Somers, NY and his sister Marion Gulick of Mohegan Lake, NY; He is survived by three sons, Andrew Jorgensen and

Lisa Latoni of Granite, UT, Karl Jorgensen and Brian Harris of Leesburg, VA, and Michael Jorgensen of Cross Junction, VA.

Arnold had a great sense of humor and will always be missed.
